Caring, involved alumni and parents are vital to the success of Austin College. Austin College volunteers have a variety of opportunities to make a difference for Austin College. Some examples include:
- Alumni Programs/Events
- Career Services
- Recruiting Future Kangaroos
- Acting as Class Leaders in fundraising efforts
- Serving on the Alumni Board
To sign up as an alumni volunteer, please email the Alumni Engagement Office at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to working with you and serving the College together.
Office of Admission staff members always are grateful when alumni, parents, and friends share the Austin College experience and encourage high school students to consider becoming future kangaroos. To refer a student to Austin College (i.e. get them on our mailing list), please complete the online student referral form.
You can help in other ways, too, like help with college fairs at local high schools, talk with prospective students/parents by phone, or host an admission reception in your home. With the help of alumni, parents, and friends, we are able to reach more students throughout the state and across the country. Want to help share the message of Austin College? See below for opportunities.
What is a college fair?
College programs, also called college fairs or college nights, are similar to trade shows. Several colleges are invited to attend these events where they display materials for students to take. The programs usually take place at local high schools or at a convention center. They can be held in the morning, afternoon, or night. A college program allows students and parents to ask college representatives specific questions. Up to a few hundred students may attend these programs.
In fall and spring, alumni and parent volunteers represent Austin College at many college programs, which usually do not fit into the schedules of the admission staff. These volunteers bring several hundred new inquiries from these events to the college each year.
