The choirs of Austin College will present their annual Fall Concert on Sunday, November 13, at 3 p.m. in Wynne Chapel at Austin College. The concert is free and open to the public.
Sunday’s concert will feature the 50-voice Austin College A Cappella Choir. Performances also will be presented by the 12-voice Consort, an a cappella vocal jazz ensemble, and a brand new vocal ensemble in 2016, the Camerata, a six-voice group that sings Renaissance music.
During 2015-2016, the Choir performed an entire season of music new to its repertoire, but to celebrate its 70th year during 2016-2017, the ensemble will perform a concert of “Greatest Hits.”
Alumni and audiences should recognize many pieces the Choir has performed across Texas, the U.S., and the world for the past 70 years.
The choral ensembles at Austin College are led by Dr. Wayne Crannell, Austin College associate professor of music. Crannell will be assisted by Austin College senior and Sherman native Libby Jennings.
