After double majoring in International Relations and Chinese Studies, Madison Messinger graduated from Austin College in 2014, where she spent a year in China supported by a Gilman Scholarship. During her time at Austin College she was an active volunteer in the local community and received a Global Outreach Fellowship to Taiwan for the summer of 2011, both of which sent her down a path of service and community engagement. Upon completing a year of Literacy AmeriCorps, Madison started working at the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas as a Child Programs Coordinator and after a year was promoted to Child Programs Team Lead. She currently oversees the School Pantry program, facilitating monthly food distributions at participating DISD schools from September through May. Additionally, her work at NTFB involves supporting the Food 4 Kids backpack program and Kid’s Café summer and supper meals program. She can be reached at Madison.Messinger@NTFB.org for any questions related to her time at Austin College or the North Texas Food Bank.
