Model United Nations (MUN) is offered as a course once a year by the AC Political Science department. Within the course, students will examine the country AC is representing that year, as well as discuss the nature, problems, and goals of the United Nations. Two student leaders are chosen each year to additionally teach students the rules, processes, and paper-writing skills necessary for participating in the National Model United Nations conference. The course culminates in a trip to New York City for a week to participate in the NMUN conference, in which students from all around the US and the world will meet. Thanks to a generous endowment, the trip is significantly subsidized—opening the opportunity up to all interested AC students. Every 3-4 years, AC participates in an international conference, in place of the New York conference, giving students a chance to go abroad.
