Description: This course will explore the Indian diet. Students will be introduced to different Indian cuisines, recipes and ingredients while also learning about diet related conditions and diseases that are prevalent in the Indian subcontinent. Ischemic heart disease, COPD, cancer, stroke, and diarrheal diseases are the top 5 killers in India. Diet plays a significant role in the occurrence of nearly all these diseases. The course will also evaluate the benefits associated with some common ingredients used to make traditional Indian dishes.
