Yes, our new COVID-friendly plan for TEDxAustinCollege will be a hybrid of in person and online. The hybrid event plan will offer both limited in-person attendance and a live-stream option.
In-person attendance will be limited to approximately 20% capacity for Sally and Jim Nation Theatre in the Ida Green Communication Center (500+ capacity). ONLY students, faculty and staff who are already on campus this semester will be allowed to attend. This includes event volunteers.
YES. All participants will have to present a green badge before entering the building. Check in will be contactless, and mask requirements for all attendees and volunteers will be strictly enforced.
There will be no in-person Discovery Depot this year - all audience engagement will be done from the person's seat with activities for those in person and those attending by livestream remote.
Unfortunately, not this year, (alumni, guests, families, as well as students, faculty and staff) can attend remotely via live-stream.

TEDxAustinCollege will have two sessions with five speakers total, with a break in between sessions. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with Session One beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. The conference will be concluded by noon.
TEDxAustinCollege (x = independently organized event) is an annual event organized by students. It features speeches from Austin College alumni, faculty, staff, students, and local community. See more information.
This year’s event will be hosted on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. It will be held in the newly renovated Nations Theatre inside Ida Green Communications Center!

There will not be an interactive discovery depot at this year’s event. All audience engagement will be done from the person's seat - whether that is in IGT or remote. If your group would like to participate in the audience engagement with a fun and thought provoking activity, contact Beau Beshires.
