Program Provider Partners

Austin College is proud to partner with study abroad providers that specialize in quality international programs around the world. These long-standing organizations partner with distinguished universities abroad as well as facilitate their own unique programs, giving Austin College students access to world-class courses. In addition to providing excellent academics, study abroad providers also:

  • organize cultural activities and excursions that further immerse students in their local environment
  • coordinate internship, research, and service learning opportunities that fit a student's goals
  • arrange housing accommodations for the duration of a student's stay
  • ensure health and safety through established protocols and in-country support

Students are encouraged to explore all of their study abroad options, and the Office of International Programs will guide students on making the best choice with their academic, professional, and personal interests in mind.

College Year in Athens (CYA) Expand

At CYA, students will walk--literally and figuratively--in the footsteps of some of the deepest thinkers in human history. In addition to offering diverse and exciting courses, CYA encourages students to become involved in extracurricular activities and explore on their own during weekends. Students are engaged academically but, beyond that, CYA helps them grow as global citizens and leaders. Many CYA students participate in volunteer and internship opportunities at organizations around Athens, including working with refugees, English as a second language, and helping Aegean marine life.
The CYA curriculum includes exciting courses (Fall, Spring, Winter, Summer) in a wide range of academic disciplines, focusing on Greece and Europe as a case study. Courses are taught in English, though language courses are offered.

With 140+ study abroad programs in 34 locations around the world, we offer a little bit of everything when it comes to study abroad. On an IES Abroad program, you can enroll in courses at one of our Centers abroad where you’ll take classes alongside students from all over the United States. You also have the option to enroll in courses at a local university abroad. Or, customize your academic schedule with courses at both. Our study abroad programs take learning outside of the classroom with optional internships, community-based learning placements, and course-related field trips. All of your predeparture planning, advising, on-site support, courses, field trips, housing, and more are included on an IES Abroad program. Because providing you with the tools and support you need to make studying abroad your best adventure ever is our number one goal.

Junior Year in Munich (JYM) Expand

Wayne State University's Junior Year in Munich is the longest running study abroad program in Germany (since 1953), and is affiliated with Germany's top ranked research university: Ludwig Maximilians Universität München (LMU Munich). JYM can help your students design a program of study that meets their interests and needs by combining JYM and University courses with a research project or possibly an internship. JYM offers academic year and one-semester program options. Open to juniors, seniors, second semester sophomores with 4 semesters of college-level German or the equivalent level of proficiency from all accredited US colleges and universities.

The School for Field Studies (SFS) Expand

The School for Field Studies (SFS) is the United States’ largest environmental study abroad organization, offering transformative, field-based programs to undergraduates from across the nation. Over the last four decades, more than 20,000 students have attended our programs, and in the last five years, more than 350 colleges and universities have sent students on SFS programs. The SFS study abroad model is unlike any other. Our programs, operating in more than 10 countries around the world, offer an immersive international experience focused on real-world environmental research, hands-on learning in the field, and community reciprocity. Students earn credit, learn practical skills, and gain a global perspective that informs and challenges their opinions about the world around them. We have over 50+ years of experience in study abroad and consider ourselves experts in language and cultural immersion. Coursework in English and Spanish is available as well as experiential learning opportunities such as internships, service learning and volunteering.
