Product Lab is an experiential entrepreneurial product design program that takes product ideas that solve everyday problems and turns them into real products. Students will experience a collaborative and creative interdisciplinary environment where they will be tasked with accomplishing the "idea to launch" product lifecycle in just 3 months. Individuals or teams will identify and pitch a product idea, then apply user-centric product design and prototyping methodology to turn their idea into a viable product. Students will create a month long funding campaign via crowdfunding, box subscription, or other methods that lead to rapid product development and release. Students will be connected with mentors and area startup / innovation communities. Those who successfully fund their product idea will receive hands-on mentorship over the summer to get to initial production run. This is a fast paced program focused on designing, prototyping and launching a product in just a few months. Come ready to problem solve, design, and create.
Students from all disciplines are welcome. No previous business experience or coursework is required. Instructor permission is required. Students interested in learning more or obtaining instructor permission should submit a Product Lab Student Interest Form.
