Austin College is a small, select, liberal arts college. It’s true you won’t find a dozens of choirs or bands, but that also means that music at Austin College is designed and evolves specifically for you. If you are not planning a music major, the same opportunities for lessons, ensembles, solo performance, and scholarships are still here. And of course, you can major or minor in music at AC; our alumni work in almost every musical field. The program provides preparation and guidance for graduate studies, but we also offer a Masters of Teaching in Music with public school certification.
But just as many of our student musicians study other subjects. Austin College has some of the finest pre-med and STEM programs you’ll find at any liberal arts college with unmatched undergraduate research opportunities. Our exceptional humanities and social science programs offer individualized preparation for graduate study as well as the workplace, where AC grads are highly valued as creative and motivated critical thinkers and leaders. And all of these students sing and play in the same ensembles, on the same recitals, and take classes and lessons from the same teachers.
