The multidisciplinary nature of the Public Health Program at Austin College, including such courses as epidemiology, health care policy, health law, global health, health care management, health communications, and medical ethics, are unified in their objective to promote health and mitigate the burden of disease on a community and global level through disease prevention, promoting wellness, and encouraging appropriate policies. In order to prepare our students to successfully meet these challenges during their graduate training and as part of their future careers, we promote and foster an environment of active and interactive learning. Moreover, we encourage the application of learned concepts and gaining real-world experience through internships, volunteering opportunities, and study abroad experiences. At the core of our vision is our faculty’s commitment to providing our students with the foundation and fund of knowledge to become tomorrow’s pioneers and leaders in public health.
