Mexico means so much to me now, more than ever. I spent a month with an elderly couple in their home in Querétaro and they treated me like their own daughter. They had lessons about life to tell and advice to give and I received it all with an open heart. I navigated the ways of an anthropologist, despite being a biochemistry major, and I’m very honored that they took me as one of their own. I’ve never felt more proud and honored to be a Mexican and this trip helped me learn about different aspects of my culture and I’m so appreciative of that.
