Description: The Rainbows The Nerk Twins The Quarrymen The Silver Beetles The Beatles How did a group of high school kids from the wrong side of Liverpool who could barely play their instruments become the most important rock band in the world? Who influenced them? Who did they influence? Were they even that great? Using film, video, writings, and ultimately the music itself, this course will dive into every corner of the artistic and cultural phenomenon that was the Beatles. Interwoven into this material will be a broader discussion of the cultural revolution that engulfed the 1960s and the Beatles’ place in it.
