Degree Planning Checklists
All students enter Austin College as Undeclared students. Transfer students with more than 17 course credits must declare their programs of study during their first semester in order to be able to register for the following term.
Use of Transfer Course Credit
The Registrar’s Office articulates all of the transfer course credit for Austin College course credit upon application to the institution.
For transfer courses to meet Austin College Discover Requirements, transfer students must petition for the application of credit using the Transfer of Credit Toward the Discover Requirement form. (Students who entered Austin College before Fall 2019 should complete the Transfer Credit Application to Breadth Requirements form.)
Transfer courses must also be reviewed and applied to the programs of study adopted by new students. Department Chairs and Program Directors can have transfer credit applied to the programs evaluation using the Major and Minor Program Course Substitutions and Waivers form.
Registration for Classes
New transfer students have various opportunities to register for classes with the assistance of Austin College faculty and staff at Fall and Spring Student Conference events as well as registration events and phone advising over the summer, depending on the term of entry. Subsequent registration periods are conducted through WebHopper and communicated via the Academic Calendar and AC email.
