Description: Effective debate is one of the best ways to achieve your goals in any setting. This course is an intensive examination of debate: we will look at different models of argument, analyze famous historical examples, learn how to structure and support arguments, and practice those skills in individual speaking, partnered, and group contexts that explore issues of contemporary social significance. Significant emphasis will be placed on critique and understanding common logic fallacies.
