Society of Physics Students (SPS) logo

You don’t need to be a physics major to be involved — anyone with an interest in physics, astronomy, or cool science can join!

Austin College’s Society of Physics Students (SPS) sponsors fun events throughout the year such as ice cream contests, star parties, solar-powered boat races, and finals study-a-thon (which means good food!).

SPS also provides excellent leadership opportunities for our students. Our SPS chapter has been named an Outstanding Chapter (the highest recognition) by the national SPS organization. This designation is based on a variety of factors, including campus activities, outreach efforts, and regional and national SPS participation. Our chapter has been highlighted in SPS national publications for our homcoming festivities and building community online and around campus.
