Axos Systems
Wellington, New Zealand

At my job, our specialty is products designed for pricing and billing of electricity in the New Zealand energy market. Because we are small, our roles are big. I do a bit of everything, from high level product map planning to engaging with new customers.
For the last 10 years, I have been working as a telescope operator about twice a month at a city council funded space and science museum, called Space Place in Wellington. It has been fun engaging with the community through science education, often providing people's first experience looking through a telescope. I also get to use an amazing 15-foot-long, 155-year-old telescope that weighs about five tons.

Since I have left AC, I have lived in Japan for three years followed by living in The Gambia, West Africa, for two years with the Peace Corps. Then I decided to move to New Zealand to start a career and have been here for almost 10 years now. Immigrating to multiple countries was hard work, and it was all worth it. Before college, I never really left North Texas and I wanted to see the world. Austin College taught me to put myself out there and get out of your comfort zone.
