"As someone who really appreciated learning and growth, the liberal arts education at Austin College was a perfect fit for me. I felt encouraged to grow and learn in ways that truly resonated.

When I started, I was pre-med, but I didn’t stick with it – and that’s okay. You don’t always know where you’re headed until you get there. What remained constant, though, was my passion for music, and as I considered my career, I realized that’s what I wanted to pursue. I also minored in neuroscience and East Asian studies, so I’m very much a product of the liberal arts. Interestingly, those areas of study still come into play in my career. Being able to understand technical material and work with diverse teams has been invaluable, and I also get to apply that knowledge personally. 

If I could give advice to my 18-year-old self, it would be to embrace every opportunity to grow, keep an open mind, and trust that a liberal arts education will give you the tools to adapt and thrive."
