The Sid Richardson Recreation Center, a multipurpose recreational facility for all students, was made possible by a challenge grant from the Sid Richardson Foundation. Sid Richardson was a pioneer wildcatter and independent oilman who established the foundation which bears his name. The center was built in 1971, along with Hannah Natatorium.

The center is part of the Robert T. Mason Athletic/Recreation Complex.
