SHERMAN, TEXAS — Austin College President Steven O’Day has announced that Brent Casey is the College’s new Associate Vice President and Dean of Admission.

He currently serves as the director of college counseling at Holland Hall in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and will join Austin College this June.  Casey has also held positions at Texas Lutheran University, Schreiner University, and Hardin-Simmons University.

"I am so excited to welcome Brent to the Institutional Enrollment team. Brent is a leader in our profession, and understands the importance of developing relationships and centering students and their families in the college decision process,” shares Mary Randers, Interim Vice President for Institutional Enrollment. “We are truly lucky that he is bringing his leadership, experience, and talent to Austin College. I look forward to working alongside him to advance our recruitment work."

Casey earned a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Hardin-Simmons University, and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from the University of Oklahoma. He is a past president of the Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling (GPACAC,) having served in various executive board positions through the years, and has also been an active member of Texas Association for College Admission Counseling (TACAC.) He has served on college advisory boards including Southern Methodist University, Texas Tech University, Samford University, Princeton University, Ohio Wesleyan University, and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, as well as The Coalition for College.

“I am honored to join the Austin College family. I have a true love for college admission, having worked with students for years to find their best college fit,” says Brent. “In the right environment, students are empowered to learn, excel, and become change agents for a better world. I see evidence of this at Austin College and that’s exciting.”

Brent is a native Texan, and is happy to be moving back to his home state and closer to family. He will make the move to campus this summer with his Ragdoll cat, Libby. In his free time, he likes spending time with friends and family, working on his house, and traveling the nation and the world—especially to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
