Description: Health care is growing and complex field, comprising numerous careers beyond primary care and surgery. This course will introduce students to the broad scope of healthcare careers and healthcare issues. The course will include both “virtual shadowing” sessions with healthcare practitioners and a variety of supplemental readings. One emphasis of the course will be to discuss the skills and attributes of professionalism in healthcare and provide students an opportunity to assess and reflect upon their own strengths and areas for improvement. (For Jan Term 2021, this course is a substitute for in-person healthcare CSOCs. Intended primarily for students with limited healthcare experience, but open to all.)
