Faculty: Andrew Carr and Terry Stone
Description: Think back to all of your math and science classes. As you consider these classes, is there a teacher that stands out as particuarly inspiring? Can you recall a moment where a difficult concept finally clicked? Can you remember doing an awesome experiment that was a lot fun? It is likely that you have several teachers and memories that come to mind, which illustrates that early educational experiences are lasting. Since these experiences had an impact for you, you may want to learn more about teaching in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). In this course, students will explore STEM education. As part of this exploration, students will work together to design and bring experiential STEM activities to local intermediate school classrooms. Activities at local schools may adjust the start and end times for each day’s meeting time. There will be one informational meeting in November (TBD)
