The Austin College Center for Staff Development offers programs each year to help our professional community develop as managers, supervisors, administrative professionals, individual contributors, and as people. The programs and resources offered by the Center for Staff Development are designed to encourage skills assessment, workplace accountability, and a culture of well-being to help us be our best as individuals as we deliver on the mission of Austin College.

Staff Council is made up of employees representing every division of the college. They organize community events throughout the year for staff and faculty fellowship, and also assure that the staff of the institution have a voice in addressing concerns related to campus employment.

Austin College and our health insurance consortium, CARES, are committed to creating a culture of wellbeing for Austin College employees and their spouses and dependents. Utilizing the book “Well Being: The Five Essential Elements” by Tom Rath and Jim Harter, the Live Well team offers support for five different aspects of wellbeing: physical, financial, social, community, and purpose – from yoga classes for employees and spouses to retirement counseling!
