Employment Opportunities

We believe purpose and work can go hand in hand.

Our residential campus makes it easy for your work to impact real lives and drive meaningful change. Faculty and staff enjoy the unique opportunity to work closely with students—building relationships, mentoring, and making a difference every day—while continuing to grow in their own field.

We strive for students to Expect the Unexpected, but you can guarantee that whether you live right on Grand Avenue or commute from 30 miles away, you’ll find a welcoming community that makes you feel at home from day one.

Austin College is the oldest institution of higher education in Texas still operating under original name and charter.  Founded as a Presbyterian College in 1849, we maintain a covenant relationship with the Presbyterian Church (USA), while at the same time cultivating an inclusive atmosphere that supports each person’s growth and development regardless of religious tradition.

Sherman & Surrounding Area

Austin College is located in Sherman, Texas, at the heart of the burgeoning north Texas technology corridor and miles from Lake Texoma, the second largest lake in Texas. Sherman and Denison, our nearest neighbor, are home to many beautiful outdoor recreation areas, parks, pools, pitches, and stadiums. Though the area is experiencing rapid growth, downtown Sherman and Denison maintain a quaint hometown feel with shopping, dining, and entertainment options for all ages.

"Austin College is particularly special to me because I find in its application of its mission to create a life of the mind, that this residential liberal arts experience is not just about setting aside four years of your life to consume all of the information you can and go doa job somewhere that is determined by your major. Instead, this is a place where people come to figure our who they are, and being a part of the process is something special."Dr. Kirt Everist,Associate Professor of Theatre
