The Austin College community is saddened to learn of the death on January 5 of Distinguished Alumna and Senior Trustee Honey Altman Minshew ’63.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church Sherman at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 9, with Dr. Mike Lawson and Rev. Steve Rice conducting. Burial will be a private ceremony at West Hill Mausoleum. Honey had requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Austin College, First Baptist Church Sherman, or the Women’s Gift Exchange.
For decades, Austin College students, faculty, staff, administrators, and trustees have benefitted greatly from Honey’s leadership, encouragement, support, generosity, and friendship. She is, and will remain, much beloved on campus and throughout ’Roo Nation.
Honey served on the Board of Trustees from 1988 to 2000 and since has been a faithful member of the Senior Board of Trustees as well as an active alumna and advocate for the College.
