Faculty Bio:
My name is Josh Edge and I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science. Originally born in Texas, I moved to Kentucky in my early childhood. I attended college in the Commonwealth as well at Transylvania University. My college experience was not unlike the ones my current students at Austin College have. I saw the transformative effect a good mentor and professor could have on the lives of their students, so I decided to attend graduate school at Indiana University – Bloomington to obtain my PhD in mathematics and become a professor.
I teach at Austin College because I see the work the institution does to change lives. As a first-generation college student myself, I understand that university systems can be hard to navigate and I want to serve as a mentor to students to navigate that process. The courses I teach at AC are designed with students in mind, and I always try to make my courses fun and exciting.
