B.A., Austin College.
M.F.A., The University of Memphis.
I graduated from Austin College with a B.A. in French, but my study abroad experience researching works at the Musee du Louvre in Paris largely influenced my decision to become an artist. Knowing that even highly successful artists have day jobs, I lived in New Orleans and then Chicago working in marketing while developing my artistic practice. I then completed my M.F.A in Studio Art at The University of Memphis, where I fell in love with teaching at the college level. I was thrilled to discover an opportunity to teach at my beloved alma mater, because my liberal arts education helped me succeed in both of my dream jobs– art and teaching. I’m so excited to help a new class of students discover new ideas and achieve their goals.

My artwork is largely guided by various concepts surrounding landscape. Landscape isn’t just a pretty subject for a painting; it’s an active influence on who we are and how we live. I look at everything from tourist maps to satellite imagery to understand the relationships between our environments and our selves.
