Here's what you should do next:

1. File your FAFSA

File your FAFSA using the Austin College code #003543

FAFSA Website

Once you have submitted the FAFSA to the federal government, Austin College will receive your eligibility information for federal financial aid programs. Our financial aid office will pair that with any Austin College scholarships, grants, and other loans that you may be eligible for and create a financial aid package just for you!

2. Claim your Spot by Submitting your Deposit

Log on to your Student Hub, accept your offer of admission, and pay the $350 enrollment deposit.

When you accept your offer of admission, you agree to uphold our principles: Austin College is committed to the ideals of community membership, individual responsibility, shared goals and expectations, and the highest standards of integrity. Signing the Commitment to Academic Integrity indicates an understanding of our general educational approach and a willingness to abide by the Austin College principles.

3. Activate your AC Email

Activate your account & reset your password

Login using your new Austin College username and temporary password.

You can find this information by logging into your admitted student Student Hub, or contact the Office of Admission at 903.813.3000
- Your temporary password is: lowercase first name initial, your date of birth, uppercase last name initial
  Example: Jane Smith, with a January 17, 1992 birthday: j01171992S
- Create a new password and choose your security questions. Your new password must be at least eight characters, and must include three of the following four character types:
  - Uppercase letters (A-Z)
  - Lowercase letters (a-z)
  - Digits (0-9)
  - Symbols (#$%^&*, etc.)

You may now login to Self-Service to view your financial aid offer, complete new student documents, and check your new Austin College email!

If you have technical issues getting into your new email account, contact our IT Help Desk at 903.813.2063 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

4. Apply for Housing

All first-year students* live on campus in one of our four traditional residence halls or the Global Living Learning Community – it is a hallmark of the collegiate experience!

Figuring out where you will live on campus is a two-step process.

Complete the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality survey, used to match you to a roommate.
Submit your housing contract and include your four-letter personality type.

Be sure you have completed both parts in order to receive priority consideration for your housing choice.

Step 1: Complete your Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) survey

You'll receive a unique link to complete your survey in your Austin College email inbox.
Log in using your Austin College username and password.
After you complete the survey, your results will be emailed to you within 24 hours. This email contains the four-letter personality type that you will need for your residence hall occupancy contract.
You will need to complete the MBTI even if you’ve taken it before and know your letters. The only exception is for students who will be living at home with parents.

Step 2: Submit your online residence hall contract

(priority deadline - May 15)

After you complete the MBTI survey and receive your results, submit your housing contract
Reference our walk-through of the process if you have questions as you complete your form.
Our Student Life Office prioritizes assignments based on the date they receive your survey and contract. Residence hall and roommate assignments cannot be made until your online housing contract and MBTI survey are received.
If you have a roommate preference, both parties must indicate this preference by emailing, studentlife@austincollege.edu, on or before May 15.
If you are applying to live in the Global Living & Learning Community in the Jordan Family Language House, please note the additional application.
Students who apply for this housing opportunity will also need to take their MBTI assessment and submit a housing contract.

Meal Plans:

All first-year students living on campus have a 7-day unlimited meal plan.
This meal plan grants you unlimited access to the dining hall between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday - Friday and 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Your meal plan includes $75 Hopper Dollars to use in the other three on-campus dining venues for coffee, snacks, and late-night dining at the Kangaroo Coffee Company, Hopper Store, and the Pouch Club.

5. Health Forms

The following items in your Student Health Portal must be returned by July 1. Log on using your AC username and password (see "Login to your AC email" for more information.)

Austin College requires all enrolled students to have valid health insurance. All students are automatically enrolled in the student health plan sponsored by Austin College unless they waive enrollment by submitting proof of current insurance.

If you already have health insurance coverage, you must waive the AC sponsored insurance plan.
Complete the online waiver form with your current insurance information by June 15th. This is an annual requirement, so you can expect to complete the waiver all four years.

To either waive or sign up for the student health plan, you must login to the Academic Health Plan Portal.

The login ID is the your AC ID with one leading zero so that it's seven digits (i.e., 0123456);
The password is the your date of birth in format mmddyyyy

Student Athletes: You are encouraged to carefully check your family’s insurance policy. If it does not cover intercollegiate athletics, it is recommended that you purchase the student insurance plan.

Athletes are not permitted to participate in their team’s activities prior to submission of all the required forms. Please contact Sheila Smith at 903.813.2499, if you have any questions.
