Dr. Linda Silver

SHERMAN, TEXAS —Austin College will welcome CEO of the Perot Museum in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Linda Silver, as she presents as part of the 2025 Posey Speaker Series: Women in Leadership. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in Wright Campus Center, Mabee Hall, with a moderated Q&A session between Silver and Dr. Julia Shahid from noon to 1 p.m. This event, sponsored by the Austin College Posey Leadership Institute, is free and open to the public. Registration, available here, is required and closes on Friday, February 28, at noon.

Since joining the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in 2017 as the Eugene McDermott Chief Executive Officer, Silver’s tenure has been defined by a steadfast commitment to the Museum’s mission of inspiring minds through nature and science. Her leadership has resulted in consistent financial surpluses, which have been strategically reinvested into the Museum’s staff, exhibit floors, and educational programs. These resources have ensured that financial aid remains available, allowing every school in North Texas to access the Museum’s extensive science education initiatives. In 2020, Silver reaffirmed the Museum’s commitment to advancing new knowledge by unveiling a state-of-the-art science and collections facility which houses the Museum’s paleontology team, their laboratories, and 150,000 scientific specimens. Her extensive experience across multiple prestigious institutions has established her as a leading figure in the museum sector.
