Austin College held its Opening Convocation to welcome all new students and begin the 176th academic year on Monday, August 26, 2024. New first-year and transfer students, and those beginning their senior year, joined staff and faculty in celebration of classes beginning the next day.

County commissioners approved an affiliation agreement that will allow students in the Austin College Physician Assistant program to perform clinical rotations with local physicians as they see patients at the Grayson County Health Department. This partnership will allow students to gain first-hand experience as they shadow doctors in the upcoming tuberculosis clinic.

Students gathered to assemble meal kits in partnership with Kids Against Hunger and were able to make over 43,000 kits for House of Hope Children’s Home in Puerto Lempira, Honduras.
