I am currently in Fort Myers, Florida in a Career Development Program with a company called White Cap, the country’s leading distributor in construction supply. As a manager trainee, I am exposed to every aspect/role of the company from operations to sales to management that will prepare me to develop as a future leader of this successful company. My goals include striving to make a positive influence every day, inspire others by performing as a servant leader and becoming a knowledgeable professional woman in the industry. If I could choose any path to go down on, it would be to make others better – and I am in the perfect position to do that in my career with White Cap. As a leader, I need to know how to create, collaborate, innovate, and inspire – Austin College taught me just that and more. My liberal arts education taught me the importance of connecting disparate thoughts and ideas, my collegiate basketball experience taught me to “leave everything better than I found it,” and my extracurricular activities such as volunteering and interning taught me the value of serving others. Austin College provided the belief and confidence I needed to pursue a career in leadership and be somebody in this world, as well as forever inclining me to nurture my creative thinking and curious spirit. I am excited, grateful, and passionate about where I am today, and I give many thanks to my Austin College experience.
