Since May of 1998, I have had a number of cool jobs because of my AC education. My first was with Deloitte Consulting as a Systems Analyst. I was certified in the Sales & Distribution Module of SAP and based out of Chicago. I also worked a lot in Customer Relationship Management (with Siebel and SAP CRM). It was a exciting job that exposed me to a lot of different industries, cities, and roles.
After 3 years at DC, I discovered that I liked being on the sales side of technology so I decided to try B2B sales with Cingular (now AT&T) and TMobile. I launched the first camera phones & specialized in smart phones and business data applications. I had a new gadget every couple months, free cell service for another 3 years & then decided I wanted to use my sales skills in medical to help people. I spent 3+ years selling Lantus insulin and other drugs for the Diabetes market with Sanofi Aventis and then I wanted more of a challenge getting into Medical Devices.
For the past 4.5 years I have worked for a Belgian company called Barco Healthcare in different Business Development Roles. We are the market leader for high resolution medical monitors that are used in Radiology to detect cancer. I cover 8 states in the Pacific Northwest and specialize in Women’s Health and Breast Cancer in a National role as well. Barco also recently launched the world’s first Video Over IP for the ORs using fiber, and also bought a Patient Bedside Monitoring company that will be used in hospitals of the future. It’s a really exciting blend of bleeding edge technology and products that can help people. I owe a lot of my success to Mike Higgs, who is an excellent and amazingly patient teacher, and Austin College.
