Peer Mentor Application Updated on: February 23, 2021 Please read the following requirements for serving as a Peer Mentor in the First-Year Seminar:DIRECTIONS: FYS Peer Mentors are students who are selected by First-Year Seminar (FYS) faculty to assist them with their courses each fall. Many faculty ask specific students to apply to be their peer mentors; some select peer mentors from the general pool of applicants. Any currently enrolled student may apply. PLEASE NOTE: If you have served as a peer mentor (FSL/CL) in the past, you cannot be a peer mentor again. Since the application process is competitive, please note that not all applicants will be chosen as peer mentors. STEP 1: Please read and acknowledge the following before completing your application. I understand that if selected as a peer mentor, I am committing myself to the following: * I commit to attending the Peer Educator Institute on Saturday, April 29th and additional FYS peer mentor training in May as required.. * I will commit to being on campus one week before classes begin in the fall, and will attend peer mentor training, and all designated meetings held during the week leading up to the start of classes, as determined by the professor. * I understand that if I miss any of the above meetings, it may be grounds for my dismissal from the peer mentor program.
