Upon earning her summa cum laude degree from Austin College with majors in Psychology and Political Science and a minor in Leadership Studies, Samantha Fawcett ’20 was well-positioned to enroll in Duke University School of Law in fall 2020. She recently wrote Austin College Pre-Law Advisor Frank Rohmer to tell him how much she loved her first year of law school. “I definitely felt very well prepared by your Constitutional Law class at Austin College, and it set me up for a great showing in the course.” She wrote that she received the Dean’s Award in her Constitutional Law class, given to the student with the top exam score in each class.
During summer 2021, Samantha was able to join a Duke law professor in her research in corporate social responsibility. She also participated in the recruitment process for Dallas firms and was offered a summer associate position for 2022 with Norton Rose Fulbright. And, she was invited to join the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy. “I am thrilled for the next year and all of these opportunities that I feel so lucky to have,” she wrote to Dr. Rohmer. “I really do not think I would be here without your help. Thank you again for everything you did, from recommendation letters to advice on how to apply to law school in the first place. I am so appreciative!”
