Faculty Bio:
My strong passion for teaching and commitment to research brought me to academia. After receiving my Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, I joined the Austin College faculty in fall 2016. I teach courses in Finance and Strategic Management at Austin College. Previously I taught financial management and business simulation courses at the University of Tennessee. I sincerely care about the learning and academic development of my students. I also firmly believe in achieving the trust of my students so that I can create an effective learning environment in the classroom. Accordingly, I provide individual attention to each student to monitor progress and make time for interaction and instructions outside of the class. My primary areas of research interest are Corporate Governance and Corporate Finance. One of my research papers was recently published in the Journal of Corporate Finance, one of the top-5 journals in Finance. I am a veteran and served active duty military service in the U.S. Army. I am also an avid photographer with interests in street photography. My photographs were featured in national and international media.
