Students Go to Czech Republic for Model UN
Diplomacy and compromise are foundational skills for students participating in a Model United Nations conference. Austin College students' long record of success at those conferences indicates they have those skills down. During the Thanksgiving holidays, 16 students put their skills to the test at the International Model United Nations conference in the Czech Republic--and came home winners.

Law Symposium 2011
The 2011 Dr. Kenneth Street Law Symposium, sponsored by the Austin College "L" Association and the Austin College Pre-Law Society, will be held on Friday, February 25, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Alumna Nominated for Texan of the Year
Each year, The Dallas Morning News Editorial Board selects a Texan of the Year, "who has had uncommon impact; exemplifies Texas traits of trailblazing and independence; and has affected or influenced lives." Rebecca Russell Sykes '67, executive director of Dallas Women's Foundation, is among this year's nominees.

Ten Austin College alumni grace D Magazine's "Best Doctors" list. This year's list includes 705 doctors, selected by their peers within 40 specialties.

"Peacemaking: The Believers' Call"
The Presbyterian Church's 2010 Advent devotional celebrates the 30th anniversary of the creation of the official statement that launched the church's peacemaking program. Henry Bucher, chaplain emeritus, is one of the authors of the devotional and the 1975 statement.

Basketball Alumni Game Set
The alumni game is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 8. The 'Roo men's and women's basketball teams will play SCAC foe Colorado College at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. We invite our alumni to join us for the alumni game and a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., and then join us as we host the Tigers!

Soccer Coach's Career Highlighted
Women's soccer coach Paul Burns has been featured for his outstanding 15th winning season. Burns joined the college in 1996 and founded the women's soccer program. He remains passionate about the team because of the quality of his players. |
