ACtivators Lead 500th Event

The Austin College ACtivators youth ministry team will lead its 500th event this month as Grace Presbytery's Senior High Youth Conference comes to campus January 28-30.

GO! Forum Posey Leadership Award - Tickets on Sale Now
Tickets are now available for the presentation of the 2011 Posey Leadership Award honoree Zainab Salbi at 7:30 p.m. on February 17 at the Wyly Theatre of the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas. Proceeds support study abroad scholarships at Austin College. Salbi will speak on campus that morning.

A Night of "Magic: The Secret Art"
Magic comes to Austin College as some of the world's most famous and influential magicians appear in a Las Vegas-style show, "Magic: The Secret Art" at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, in Ida Green Theatre. Tickets are $10 each for the general public and $3 each with a current Austin College ID.


Novelist Dorothy Allison to Visit
Austin College will host a presentation by award-winning author Dorothy Allison, who will read an excerpt of her novel Bastard Out of Carolina at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, in Mabee Hall of Wright Campus Center. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Law Symposium 2011
The 2011 Dr. Kenneth Street Law Symposium, sponsored by the Austin College "L" Association and the Austin College Pre-Law Society, will be held on Friday, February 25, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Watch the website for more details.

Board of Trustees Approves Climate Action Plan
The Austin College Board of Trustees approved a new Climate Action Plan for the College as part of the Thinking Green initiative when the group met on campus November 6. "I'm pleased that the College has formally made this plan to be good stewards of our resources," President Marjorie Hass said.

Associate Director of Alumni Relations Named
Stephanie Dawson '08 has been named Austin College associate director of Alumni Relations. "Stephanie is an asset to Austin College, and her history as an alumna is a benefit for our organization," said Brooks Hull, vice president of Institutional Advancement.

Willis Selected for NCAA Future Football Coaches Academy
Austin College senior football player Josh Willis has been selected to participate in the NCAA Future Football Coaches Academy, which took place from January 9-11 in conjunction with the American Football Coaches Association Convention in Dallas.
