The Austin College Social Entrepreneurship for Poverty Alleviation (SEPA) has received a $20,000 grant from the Texoma Health Foundation and a $5,000 grant from the WB Munson Foundation to equip Austin College student interns working for area nonprofit organizations.
SEPA engages students with nonprofits in Texoma by focusing on grant writing as an entrepreneurial endeavor. By teaching students the technical aspects of grant writing and partnering them with area nonprofits, SEPA has brought more than $498,000 in grant funding to Texoma nonprofit organizations. Due in part to the generous support of THF and the WB Munson Foundation, the grant writing services come at no cost to the nonprofit organizations.
Austin College is accepting applications through March 31, from local nonprofit organizations to participate in the 2017 Social Entrepreneurship for Poverty Alleviation (SEPA) Program. For more information visit the SEPA webpage or email SEPA@austincollege.edu. Nate Bigelow, Associate Professor of Political Science and Political Science Department Chair, will direct the Summer 2017 program.
