We hope that everyone in 'RooNation is taking your health seriously and doing what you can to take care of yourselves physically and emotionally.
The most important thing we can all do is still to help “flatten the curve” by following the CDC guidelines (practice social distancing, cover your cough or sneeze, and to frequently wash your hands). Below are some health & wellbeing resources that may be of some help.
If you find yourself not feeling well, for whatever reason, please contact your doctor’s office for advice and assistance. Many insurance providers offer tele-med & tele-counseling services, so you don’t even have to leave home for treatment.
If you have the “Academic Health Plans” student insurance, you have access to a 24/7 remote support by calling 1.855.850.4301
If you have other private health insurance, you can call the number on the back of your card to find out what they offer.
Here are a few other resources that can help you with your mental wellbeing:
- Crisis counseling is available to EVERYONE 24/7
Just text 741741 and someone will be there to help with your stress & anxiety.
Austin College continues to offer counseling services to students both in person and virtually; please contact Adams Center at 903.813.2247 to schedule an appointment.

A note from the Health Services ...
Our primary client is you, the Austin College student. It is not our intention to replace your primary physician, but to serve as a substitute at times when you may become ill. We want to help you understand some of those hazards, how to prevent them, and, when necessary, how to treat and care for yourself. Health Services will strive to foster relationships which will contribute to an atmosphere of mutual respect and assist students in their personal growth and wellness. We want you to have a healthy and productive career at Austin College. Good health is important to insure that success. We look forward to getting to know each of you!
