Emily Kuo graduated from Austin College in 2010 with a double major in Psychology and Spanish and a minor in Leadership Studies. She then worked as a maternal child health educator, labor doula, and homeless outreach services coordinator at a community health center in Aurora, Colorado. These experiences exposed her to the rewarding field of nursing, a perfect blend of her passions in health promotion and patient advocacy. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Regis University in 2014 and currently works as a pediatric nurse and health coach at the University of New Mexico Hospital. She reflects that her psychology degree informs her work on a daily basis, as she strives to help families cope with stressful situations and motivates them to create positive change in their lives.
