Instructor: Margie Norman
Description: “Have you been asked the question, “”What are you going to major in at Austin College?”” and upon answering, “”I don’t know yet””, people give you a strange look? There is an inherent desire in most individuals to have a set plan to follow in order to land that perfect “”JOB””. Well, there is no linear path to a career or to a fulfilling life. Are you nervous now? In the next few years that it takes you to graduate from Austin College there will be many new occupations developed; and many will become obsolete. You will be required to change, adapt, and learn in order to take on these new and exciting opportunities. How do you plan for this? This class will introduce you to a theory that helps you understand the difference between being “”undecided”” and being “”open-minded””. Take challenging but safe risks and wander into new territories you have never explored. Are you ready? Course Goal: To understand the chaotic, non-linear approach to career and life planning, thereby appreciating the value of a Liberal Arts Education!”
