Political Science students who meet a variety of academic requirements are invited to join the Chi Chi chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society. The Chi Chi chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha received its charter at Austin College in 1999. Founded in 1920 at the University of Texas, Pi Sigma Alpha recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of students within the discipline of Political Science. There are more than 500 chapters established in colleges and universities in the United States. Requirements for membership at Austin College include completion of at least three Political Science courses, a GPA of 3.5 or above within the major, and an overall academic standing in the upper third of the college class.
