The Rev. Keatan King is Associate Pastor at St. Philip Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas, since 2013. She is a native of Austin, Texas and a life-long Presbyterian. Keatan graduated summa cum laude from Austin College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Cultural Anthropology. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa while at Austin College. She earned a Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2013, where she received the Field Education Award. Rev. King serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Her ministry at St. Philip includes preaching, leading worship, teaching, and pastoral care. Keatan has a special focus on ministry with youth and young adults, as she seeks to accompany young people as they experience the transformative love of Jesus Christ in their lives —a passion she discovered as an ACtivator at Austin College.
Keatan is married to the Rev. Dr. Nathan Carlin, Director of the McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and together they delight in raising their daughters. They enjoy cooking (especially barbeque) and traveling as a family.
