The Victoria West Athletic Program has announced Austin Molinaro ’13 (MAT ’14) as new head baseball coach. Molinaro is moving from Bay City, where he was head coach. He has coached some big names in the sport, including Chris Paddack, who is now a pitcher for the San Diego Padres.

Austin College Board of Trustees member Jim Jarratt ’67 was sworn in as the new mayor of Granbury, Texas, at the July City Council meeting. After retiring and moving to Granbury, Jarratt began serving the community through city and county board appointments. He decided to run for mayor in May after longtime Granbury mayor Nin Hulett announced his resignation.

Global professional services firm Accenture has hired Robert Cresanti ’87 as managing director to lead government relations activities in North America and to serve as head of Accenture’s global Government Relations Network. Cresanti brings nearly 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors, including roles in the US House of Representatives and US Senate. He majored in Political Science and International Relations at Austin College.

Stephen Barrett and Zach Turner have been added to the Austin College football coaching staff. Barrett is a 2007 graduate of McNeese State University, where he also received his master’s degree in 2008. Turner is a 2017 graduate of West Virginia University. In addition to coaching, he has worked as a recruiter and as a strength and conditioning program trainer.

The Austin College Athletics Department has added Woocheol Choung as an assistant athletic trainer. Choung takes over the role following the promotion of Kelsey Warren to head athletic trainer. He is a 2019 graduate of Weber State University, and recently earned a master’s degree from Texas State University. He also received a degree from Woosong University in Daejeon, Korea, in 2013.

Ally Longaker ’21 has been selected SCAC Co-Woman of the Year. In addition to being recognized as a SCAC Woman of the Year, she will be nominated for the 31st annual NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Longaker, who joins Shelby Eaves as the only other ‘Roo to earn SCAC Woman of the Year honors (2014), graduated this past spring with a 3.93-grade point average while earning a double major in Psychology and Public Health.
