COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is an immersion experience that includes a study of the Spanish language while in Alicante and an opportunity to experience life along the Costa Blanca on the Mediterranean coast. The climate and lifestyle have provided a rich history of sea merchants and conquerors that have shaped Alicante with a vibrant, modern, and unique Spanish character. The course will begin in Alicante at the Spanish Studies Abroad Center where students will attend morning classes three hours each day. There will be afternoon cultural activities twice a week. Homestays will provide students with additional exposure to the language and the culture while living and interacting with Spanish families. Additional travel excursions include a day trip to Valencia , Altea and an overnight stays and tours in Granada, and Malaga. Students have several afternoons and a part of weekend free while in Alicante for their cultural immersion and enjoyment. Be ready to walk the streets of Alicante and improve your Spanish where the language began! Level of Spanish classes offered are based on student’s proficiency level – elementary or intermediate levels, 30 hours Two students per homestay Homestays offer two meals per day and laundry service once a week.
