Recognition Societies
Donors whose annual gifts reach the following levels are recognized as members of these special giving societies:
Founders Society
Lifetime gifts of $5 million or more (including deferred)
Founded in 1849 Austin College has a distinguished history as a pioneer institution of higher learning in Texas. The Founders Society recognizes those individuals who have embraced the ideals envisioned by the founders and who, through extraordinary philanthropy and lifetime giving, have been foremost in the success of the College.
Emily Austin Society
Lifetime gifts of $1 million or more (including deferred)
Emily Margaret Austin was sister and sole heir to her famous brother Stephen F. Austin and his Texas land holdings. The gifts of Emily and her husband James Perry provided the foundation on which Austin College was built. The Emily Austin Society recognizes the significant legacy of benefactors who have expressed their commitment to the College through lifetime gifts.
1849 Society
Lifetime gifts of $500,000 or more (including deferred)
The College was founded in 1849 and received its charter from the Presbyterian Church and from the Texas State Legislature that year. From those beginnings until the present, the dreams and expectations of our founders have been supported by others who shared their vision. The 1849 Society was founded to recognize those donors.
Stephen F. Austin Society
Lifetime gifts of $100,000 or more (including deferred)
The Stephen F. Austin Society was founded to permanently recognize those exceptional donors who, through truly generous gift investments, have undergirded Austin College in its mission to provide a liberal arts education of the highest caliber.
Robert T. Mason Society
Lifetime gifts of $50,000 to Athletics (including deferred)
The Robert T. Mason Society was established to acknowledge those benefactors whose philanthropy has played a vital role in the Austin College Athletic Program. Inductees to the Robert T. Mason Society are among the “1 %” who went beyond good intentions.
President’s Circle
Annual gifts of $1,000 or more
The President’s Circle was founded to recognize our generous donors who make annual gifts to the College of $1,000 or more. Alumni donors aged 34 or younger are recognized with fiscal year gifts of $500 or more.
