The love story of Austin College senior Tyler Vilandre ’17 and his wife, Sarena, is featured on People Magazine.com. The couple faced devastating news in February 2015 when Sarena was diagnosed with bone cancer. Having received a timeline in 2016 of three to 12 months to live, Sarena was placed in hospice care. The couple decided to tie the knot on September 17, 2016. Completing his studies in Sherman, Tyler frequently visits Sarena, who lives with her mother in Watauga, Texas.
