As a native Texan and a graduate of a liberal arts college, I knew Austin College would be a perfect fit, and I have loved my time here since my arrival in Fall 2010. I teach courses in Chinese language at all levels, and culture courses that do everything from examine the rise of China as the cradle of Eastern civilization 4000 years ago to understanding the significance of contemporary kung fu films. I hope that my students leave my classroom with not only a greater understanding China, but also a broader world view that enables them to become responsible global citizens.
